Chrome extension privacy

Last updated: 10 October 2026

The Travacot extension shows your Travacot price for the hotel you are looking at on Booking.com or Expedia. This policy explains what it reads, what it sends to Travacot and what it keeps on your computer. Our Privacy Policy covers your Travacot account itself.

What it reads

Only Booking.com and Expedia hotel pages, and only what the page already shows: the hotel's name, address and map position, the dates and guests you chose there (including children's ages), the page's currency, and the rooms and rates it lists. It does not read any other website, your browsing history, or anything you type.

The rooms and rates of the page are compared with Travacot's on your computer, to put the lines under each price. They are not sent to Travacot.

What it sends to Travacot

  • When you click Check on Travacot, Compare rooms or Open in Travacot: the hotel's name, address and position, the dates and guests, and the guests' nationality and currency you set in the extension. Travacot uses them to run that search on your account, as it would on our website.
  • When a page can't be read: which site and part of the page it was (the hotel, or its rooms), the address of the hotel page, and the extension's version, so we can fix it. No personal details are sent with it.

Your sign-in

The extension has no sign-in of its own: it uses your Travacot sign-in in the same browser. It never sees or keeps your password. Signing out of Travacot signs the extension out too, and it forgets the prices it kept.

What it keeps on your computer

  • Your settings: the guests' nationality, the currency, and whether the card is folded away.
  • The prices it checked, for 10 minutes, so the same hotel isn't searched again.
  • How many checks it ran today (there is a daily limit), and the reading rules it uses for each site.

What it does not do

  • It sends nothing to Booking.com or Expedia, and makes no requests to them.
  • It does not sell or share your information, show advertising, or track you across websites.
  • It does not book anything: bookings are made on Travacot.

Chrome Web Store

Travacot's use of information received through the extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Removing it

Removing the extension from Chrome deletes what it keeps on your computer. Information about your account and bookings is covered by our Privacy Policy.
